Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. W. M. McNeill of this office
during the period April 28 through May 29, 1986, of activities authorized by
NRC Construction Permits CPPR-128 and CPPR-129 for South Texas Project, Units 1
and 2, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. J. T. Westermeier, and
other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection included corrective action and in-depth QA
inspection of performance.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
The inspection findings are
documented in the enclosed inspection report.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were
identified.
One unresolved item is identified in paragraph 3 of the enclosed inspection
report.
