The Public Spokesperson for Duke Power Company will provide plant status and company information to the media during scheduled press conferences from the hiedia Center or informal interviews at Catawba's visitor center during the initial stages of an emergency situation. These persons are as follows:

States and Counties l
Because the states and local counties have responsibility for public protective actions, h
an effective emergency response depends on close interaction among Duke Power and the stam and county officials. To provide timely information to the states and counties, their information representatives are co located in the JIC. The states and counties issue their own news releases on emergency activities in their community and participate in press conferences. Additionally, if requested, a Duke Power representative is sent to each of the state and county Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs) to serve as a liaison and to assist in clarifying information provided by Duke Power from the EOF.
G.4.c Rumor Contml I
The Government Agency Liaison will work with state and county public information officers to acknowledge rumors and determine their origin. A coordinated response will be made to deal with rumors or correct misinformation during news conference.
l Plant Neichbors and the General Publig The Customer Service Center (CSC) will answer phone calls from the public. This center is staffed with phone operator who are available around the clock. A Customer Service Center Liaison (position within the Public Affairs Emergency Response Organization in the JIC) will be stationed at the CSC to assist in developing

computer alert icons to provide the phone operators current information to use in responding to the calls. Calls that cannot be answered by the CSC will be forwarded i
to Public Affairs emergency response personnel in the JIC for resolution.

N.4 Exercise Critiaue

. A critique will be held following each exercise. The critique will be a closed session between Duke and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. During the critique, the Emergency Planning Manager, the Exercise Director, the NRC and other official observers from state, federal or local governments will rnake preliminary evaluations of on site and corporate emergency response.
N.5 Critione Action items The verbal evaluations made during the critique and any follow up written evaluation will be compiled using the Problem Investigation Process (PIP). PIP will also be used to assign corrective actions and expected completion dates to the appropriate groups. The Emergency Planning Manager acting under the authority of the Site Vice President will ensure resolution of each item.
