G' 1.0 ' PURPOSE 1.1 The purpose of this section is to make individuals aware of their responsibility to distribute, read and acknowledge required documents.
2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES 2.1 It is the responsibility of the Operations Manager to route controlled documents such as Management Expectations, Procedure Revisions and Changes, Training Familiarization's, Technical Specification and Technical Requirements Manual Changes, Licensing and Design Changes, Corrective Actions or other pertinent information to department personnel as appropriate.
2.2 The Operations Department Clerk or designee is responsible for the following:
. Ensure Document Acknowledgment Sheets (DASs) are listed in an index including using a year and number numbering scheme, and a brief description of the document.

. Distribute DASs to department personnel.
. Maintain all outstanding DASs in a book available for Operations Personnel to read and acknowledge.
. On a weekly basis review the DAS Groupwise mailInformation and book to determine *. hose individuals who have not reviewed the sequired DASs within 21 days.
. Retract DASs from all mailboxes after 21 days.
- Notify those individuals who have not reviewed the required DASs within 21 days by Groupwise that they will have to review the required DASs.
. Notify Operations supervision if any individuals have not completed required DAS reviews within 30 days.
. Assemble completed DASs with associated Groupwise mallinformation, and forward to Nuclear Records in accordance with NDM-1, Turnover and Receipt of Nuclear Plant Records".

2.3 The Shift Manager is responsible to ensure that individuals on their shift are keeping current with their obligation to read and acknowledge DASs.

1 oM-6 4, Rw.1 Page 3 of 6 2A Operations Department Personnel are responsible to review and understand DAS information within 21 days of initiation, and to request clarification from the initiator of any information not understood.
2.5 DAS initiators are responsible for providing all required information to the Operations Depwtment Clerk or designee for distribution. The !r. formation willinclude the particular documents to be reviewed and one of the following forms: OM 5.4, Attachment 1," Unit 1 Operations Department Document Acknowledgment Sheet"; DC-1, Attachment 12,
- Document Acknowledgment Sheet"; a form similar to DC-1, Attachment 12,
- Document Acknowledgment Sheet"; TQ-1, Attachment 10," Training by Famillerization".
3.0 GENERAL 3.1 When Operations personnel need to be updated on the current status of operational activitiet a DAS is distributed Operational activities may include the following: Management Expectations, Procedure Revisions and Changes, Training Familiarization's, Technical Specification and Technical Requirements Manual Changes, Licensing and Design s
Changes, Corrective Actions, or other pertinent information to department personnel as appropriate 3.2 DASs are preferably distributed by using an E mail format such as Groupwise. However, hardcopy distribution is acceptable.
3.3 A DAS may be initiated by anyone who is tasked with providing information to Operations Department personnel. One of the following formats will be used to document the reason for the DAS: OM 5.4,, " Unit 1 Operations Department Document Acknowledgment Sheet"; DC-1, Attachment 12," Document Acknowledgment Sheet"; a form similar to DC-1, Attachment 12, " Document Acknowledgment Sheet"; TQ-1, Attachment 10 " Training by Familiarization".
3,4 The Unit 1 Operations Procedure Group requests DAS distribution for recently approved procedure changes and revisions. Operations personnel are not required to recall the specifics of the changes, unless i
specifically noted, 3.5 Opening electronic DASs w;u i>e the acknowledgment that the individual A'

4.0 REFERENCES
4.1 TQ-1,
- Personnel Training and Qualification", Attachment 10, " Training by Familiarization", provides higher tier guidance related to providing required reading information.
4.2 DC 1," Administration of Procedures and Forms", Attachment 5,
' Documentation of Training Requirements", is used to document the training and familiarization requirements for procedure changes and revisions.
4.3 NRC Inspection Manual, inspection procedure 93802, Operational Safety Team inspection (OSTI); Inspection Requirement 2.01):
- Select two recent required reading documents and familiarize yourself with their contents.
By questioning and discussing these documents with on-shift reactor operators and senior reactor operators, assess the effectiveness of the required reading program.
