AMENDMcNT REQUEST TO UPDATE THE DECOMMISSIONING PLAN FOR THE HEMATlTE EVAPORATION PONDS (TAC NO. L30981)
Dear Mr. Sharkey:
In accordance with your application dated May 30. 1997, and supplements dated October 27 and December 19. 1997, and pursuant to Part 70 to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Materials License SNM-33 is hereby amended to authorize an update to the Hematite Evaporation Ponds Decommissioning Plan.
Accordingly. Safety Condition S-1 is revised to include the dates of May 30.
October 22. and December 19, 1997.
In addition, CE has fulfilled Condition S-2 by determining the isotope and source of the contamination in burial site well # 4 as described in the NRC letter dated September 20, 1997.
Accordingly Condition S-2 1s hereby deleted.
All other conditions of this license shall remain the same.
Fnclosed are copies of the revised Materials License SNM-33 and the Safety Evaluation Report, which includes the Categorical Exclusion determination.
