ASSESSMENT FOR BEAVER VALLEY POWEh STATION, UNIT NO. 2 (BVPS-2) (TAC NO. M98088)

By letter dated February 13, 1997. Duquesne Light Company (DLC) submitted a copy of WCAP-14784, Revision 2, 'Evalution of Pressurized Thermal Shock for Beaver Valley Unit 2," which provided the new BVPS-2 10 CFR 50.61 PTS

~a ssessment regarding the reactor vessel integrity. This submittal was -

provided in response to item 3 of the NRC request for additional information dated October 18, 1996, concerning WCAP-14484, " Analysis of Capsule V from the Duquesne Light Company Beaver Valley Unit 2 Reactor Vessel Radiation ,

Surveillance Program." ,

1he NRC staff has completed its evaluation of the information presented in DLC's submittal. As noted in our SE, a copy of which is enclosed, we have concluded that the BVPS-2 reactor vessel is arojected to be below the PTS screening criteria at the expiration of the 3VPS-2 facility operating license.
