l This letter acknowledges receipt of your letter dated September 24,1998, which transmitted i
changes (Revision 33) to the Donald C. Cook Modified Amended Security Plan submitted under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p).
l Based on your determination that the changes do not decrease the effectiveness of your security plan, and after limited review of the changes, no NRC approval is required, in accordance with 50.54(p). One issue noted during the limited review appears to require l
clarification and is addressed in the enclosure to this letter. The changes in Revision 33 of the security plan will be subject to inspection to confirm that the changes have not decreased the l
effectiveness of the plan.

4.1.2.1 The adjective, "approximately"is too vague to be meaningful.
This revision added the adjective "approximately" in reference to the height of the protected area barrier, i.e. fencing and gates are "approximately" seven feet high topped by a 12-inch high barbed wire section....to make the overall barrier height "approximately" eight feet from ground level. You need to specify what deviation is acceptable while still maintaining the effective height of the barrier.
