- 1) Agenda-Discussed agenda topics for the Inspection MC 0350 Restart Panel meeting to be held at D. C. Cook Nuclear Plant on September 17, 1998, at 10:30 a.m. This meeting will be held between members of the NRC Restart Panel and members of the licensee management team.
This meeting will be open for public observation and questions following the meeting.
Questions from the public willnot be accepted during the conduct of the meeting.
- 2) SSFI Oversight -
The licensee will conduct an internal system functional inspection (SSFI) of the auxiliary feedwater (AFW) system..The inspection is scheduled to kickoffon September 21, 1998. The licensee will present its inspection plan to Region-III on September 15, 1998. This meeting willbe open for public'observation and questions following the meeting.
Questions from the public willnot be accepted during the conduct of the meeting.
The appropriate NRC oversight of this inspection and the use of this inspection as an input into the validation of the licensee's assessment activities were discussed.
- 3) Validation Plan -
The NRC discussed the inspection activities that would be required to validate the effectiveness of the licensee's improvement activities prior to restart.
- 4) Schedule-The NRC discussed appropriate methods in which to link planned inspection activities to the licensee's restart schedule to ensure effective oversight of the restart process while minimizing the impact to licensee's restart activities., Jack Grobe stated that he will request that the licensee provide a schedule suitable for placement on the docket.
