4:30 PM,' JUNE.4 MEETING WI,TH GULFiSTATES UTILTIES OFF.1CIALS Jim Towers, Manager of Federal Affairs for Gulf States Utilities, based in Beaumont, Texas, requested time for a courtesy call for his Chainnan of the Board, Dr. Paul Merle. Towers is expected to attend.
Gulf States Utilities is building the Riverbend nuclear plant located in Louisiana.
Riverbend: 2 - 934 MW BWR's (GE)
A/E Stone &:Websteri Date of Completion Unit 1, 4/85 Date of Completion Unit 2, Unit 2 canceled in January, 1984 Staff estimate of completion date is 4/86 (12 months later than utility date)
No big open items except fact that they have emergency diesels l(he_
Shoreham [TDI-R-48's -- these are straight eights like Shoreham but with a 12" diameter crank shaft (Shoreham has 11" diameter)]
Utility is cooperative with staff e.
