NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

MONTil: October,1997 Catawba Unit 2 began the month of October operating at 100% full power, The unit began decreasing power on 10/20/97 at 1300 and held at 16% power from 1852 to 2347 to repair main feedwater valve '

"2CF33" nitrogen accumulator solenoid fitting leak. During power escalation, the unit held at 63% power from 10/21/97 at 0400 to 10/21/97 at 0450 to evaluate cor. trol rod bank to lo limit alarm. De unit retumed to 10i full power on 10/26/97 at 0435, and operated at or near 100% full power the remainder of the month.
