J. Ilosmer letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission dated January 31,1997, transmitting Technical Specification Amendment Request for Specific Activity The reference letter transmitted the Commonweald. Edison Company's (CcmEd) request to amend the Technical Specifications to allow for the redaction in the allowable dose equivalent iodine concentration in the reactor coolant for Byron Unit 1. As stated in the reference ietter, the reduction in reactor coolant system iodine would only be required until the original Westinghouse D-4 Steam Generators would be replaced with Babcock & Wilcox International Steam Generators. On November 7, Byron Station initiated the replacement outage; therefore, the request for Technical Specification amendment is unnecessary and Comed is withdrawing the Technical SpeciGcation amendment request.
