OF WORKSHOP HELD ON JANUARY 1213,1998, BY THE NUCLEAR ENERGY INSTITUTE (NEI) ON LICENSING ISSUES Members of the NRC staff attended a workshop sponsored by the Nuclear Energy Institute

. concerning NEl initiatives on development of guidance documents for various licensing issues, including implemention of the 10 CFR 50.59 process, and updating of safety analysis reports in accordance with 10 CFR 50.71(e). The workshop was open to the public. Attachment 1 is the agenda for the workshop. A list of NRC attendees are provided as A*tachment 2; about two hundred nuclear industry representatives were also in attendance.

During the workshop, Mr, Frank Miraglia of NRC made a presentation about staff actions in these Ersas; a copy of his presentation materials are included in Attachment 3.
