By letter dated November 14,1996, Northern States Power Company (NSP) submitted Relief Request No. 9 related to the Third 10-year intental inservice Inspection (ISI) Program Plan, l
entitled "Use of High Alloy /High Nickel Calibration Block for Dissimilar Metal Welds." The staff has reviewed NSP's submittal and concludes that the proposed alternative provides an acceptat'le level of quality and safety. Therefore, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(a)(3)(i), the staff authorizes the use of the proposed alternative. The detailed results of the staff review are provided in the enclosed safety evaluation.
