' By letter dated April 25,1997, and as supplemented by an August 21,1997 letter, the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company, licensee for the Haddam Neck Plant, i submitted a request to amend the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) for the Plant.

( ' Based on our review of your submitals, and of the previously effective Revision 0 of the

.OAP, the staff concludes that while the revised QAP constitutes a reduction in commitment; this reduction in the structures, systems, and components (SSC) scope is due to the pormanent shut down of the plant and thus the resultant need for many less safety related SSCs. Therefore, we find Revision 1 to the QAP to be acceptable. Our Safety Evaluation of Revision 1 is anclosed.

Dear Mr. Folgenbaum:

By letter dated April 25,1997, and as supplerented by an August 21,1997 letter, the Connecticut Yankes Atomic Power Company, licensee for the Haddam Neck Plant, submitted a request to amend the Quality Assurance Program (OAP) for the Plant.

Based on our review of your submitals, and of the previously effective Revision 0 of the GAP, the staff concludes that while the revised QAP constitutes a reduction in commitment; this reduction in the structures, systems, and components (SSC) scope is due to the permanent shut down of the plant and thus the resultant need for many less safety related SSCs. Therefore, we find Revision 1 to the OAP to be acceptable. Our Safety Evaluation cf Revision 1 is enclosed.
