Attached is Security Incident Report (SIR) 97-S05-00 for Waterford Steam Electric Station Unit 3. This report concerns an event wherein personnel and vehicles from two local fire departments were granted access to the protected area without first being searched by security personnel. The local fire departments were partic',;ating in a fire drill.

This condition is being reported pursuant to Appendix G to 10CFR73(i)c.
