SUBJECT: RESPONSE TO NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50 313/97-14; 50 368/9714
- Dear Mr. Hutchinson:
Thank you for your letter of December 18,1997, in response to our September 12,1997,
letter and Notice of Violation concerning: (1) Inadequate control of Units 1 and 2 steam
generator tube eddy current examinations, and (2) the failure to take adequate corrective actions
after the identification by eddy current examination of defects in welded steam generator tube
sleeves. We have reviewed your reply and find it responsive to the concerns raised in our
Notice of Violation. We will review the implementation of your corrective actions during a future
inspection to determine that full compliance has been achieved and will be maintained.
