In accordance with Nine blile Point Unit I Technical Specification 3.6.6 we hereby submit the following Special Report concerning inoperable fire detection systems.
On Flarch 29, 1986 the fire detection system (DA-2092) in the east end of the Turbine Building (elevation 261') was taken out of service to support welding activities for piping modifications. The fire detection system was declared inoperabic in accordance with Technical Specification 3.6.6.
(Fire Detection).
In accordance with Technical Specification 3.6.6.a.1 a fire watch patrol was established. The protective measure (fire watch patrol) will continue until the system can be returned to an operable state.
