Dear Dr. Brown:
In reference to your letter of November 8,1985 (ref. a), and in accord-ance with the provision of 10 CFR 11.9, GA is hereby requesting an exemp-tion from the 60-day period for submitting applications for special nuc-lear material access authorizations.
GA is prepared to follow your suggestion and hereby requests the exemp-tion based on a schedule of submittals of one quarter of the total number of applications for each of the following categories on January 13, April
- 13. July 13, and October 13. 1986.
Category I One quarter (25%) of all new applications (those requiring initial investigation) for NRC - R or U.
Category II One quarter (25%) of all applications from individuals who currently possess a D0D Secret or DOE or NRC L and require an NRC U.
Category III One quarter (25%) of all applications for certification of existing N
D0D Secret or NRC or DOE L to NRC R; or for certifications of DOE Q g
D to NRC U.
