WNP-2 REVIEW As requested, I telephoned the offices which Sue Ann Curtis wishes to contact during the site visit. They are: City Manager of Richland, City Manager of Pasco, Richland City Planner. Benton County Planner, and the Administrator of Intergovernmental Council. I informed the various persons that the NRC team will visit WNP-2 site during the week of September ll,1978 and that Dr. Curtis as a member of the team will be reviewing socio-economic impacts of WNP-2 operation.
I requested, and was given assurance, of their cooperation.
I did not set up a specific agenda for her. Since she will be making the contacts alone, she might as well arrange the schedule to suit her convenience, i
Enclosed are copies of letters setting up meetings with the State and Federal agencies.
There is an important change in the Guide To The Format and Content Of An Environmental Statement On A Nuclear Power Plant Operating License State, which was just approved. The change eliminates Chapter 4 in its entirety. The appropriate specific changes will be promulgated in the very near future.
As you know Chapter 4 used to contain discussions on the status of the plant and on tapacts due to Construction activities. From now on, the operating license environmental statements will relate only to the operational matters of the plant. The statements will discuss the status of the plant construction in the introduction and will discuss changes in plant design, but only as related to the operation of the plant.
Please, make surt that all team members are informed of this change, particularly those who will be attending the site visit.
