Inspection Report Nos. 50-277/86-08 and 50-278/86-08
This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by a team led by
Mr. A. Krasopoulos of this office on March 17-21, 1986 at Peach Bottom Units 2
and 3, Delta, Pennsylvania, of activities authorized by NRC License Nos. DPR 44
and DPR 56 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. A. Krasopoulos
with Mr. W. Ullrich of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The purpose of this inspection was to evaluate your efforts toward full com-
pliance with the applicable requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix R.
Since full
compliance is not required until the end of the next refueling outage of Unit 2
and because a substantial part of the work involved is incomplete, a Confirma-
tory Action Letter was sent to you on April 11, 1986 describing our understand-
ing of your future actions in this area.
The areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures, analyses, repre-
sentative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the team.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
No reply to this letter is required. Your cooperation with us in this matter
is appreciated.
