Subject: Combined Inspection Nos. 50-245/86-08; 50-336/86-08
A routine safety inspection was conducted by Mr. H. Bicehouse of this office
on April 14-18, 1986 of activities related to the radioactive liquid and gas-
eous waste control program at the Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Units 1
and 2.
Our findings were discussed with Messrs. J. Kangley, S. Seace and
J. Stetz of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection on April 18, 1986
and during a subsequent telephone conversation with Mr. Kangley on
April 23, 1986.
The areas examined during this inspection included audits, changes, effluents,
instrumentation, chemistry /radiochemisty and air cleaning systems. Special
emphasis was placed on reviewing changes to your radioactive liquid and gaseous
waste control program resulting from Amendment No. 106 to License No. OPR-21
and Amendment No. 104 to License No. OPR-65.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
