Docket Nos. 50-352

50-353

Philadelphia Electric Company

ATTN: Mr. S. L. Daltroff

Vice President, Electric Production

2301 Market Street

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19101

Gentlemen:

Subject: Combined Inspection Report Nos. 50-352/86-07; 50-353/86-08

This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by J. J. Hawxhurst and

others of this office on April 2-4, 1986 at the Limerick Generating Station,

Limerick, Pennsylvania.

Areas examined during this inspection included observation of your April 3,

1986 emergency preparedness exercise, accountability drill and other areas as

described in the NRC Region I Inspection Report which is enclosed with this

letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination

of procedures, representative records, facilities and equipment, interviews

with personnel, and observations by the inspectors.

The Limerick Generating Station exercise, conducted on April 3, 1986

demonstrated that the Limerick Emergency Plan could be implemented in a manner

which would adequately provide protective measures for the health and safety of

'

the public. In addition, a separate accountability drill satisfactorily

demonstrated the Bechtel assembly and evacuation procedure for the workers on

the Unit 2 site.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified and no

response to this letter is necessary.

Your cooperation with us in this matter is appreciated.

Sincerely,

,
