Catawba Nuclear Station Dockets 50-413 and 50-414 Inspection Report--50-413, 414/97-08 Missed Commitment Completion Date By letter dated July 7,
- 1997, the NRC issued Notice of Violation- (NOV) 97-08-01 as described in Inspection Report 50-413, 414/97-08.
By letter dated July 22, 1997, Duke responded to this
- NOV, indicating certain corrective actions would
-be taken.
These corrective actions constituted commitments-to the NRC.
One of the corrective actions.of the response indicated that the condensate feedwater (CF) isol'ation valve low nitrogen pressure alarm setpoint would be evaluated to determine if the setpoint could be increased to provide more margin between the alarm setpoint' and-the inoperable pressure limit.
This evaluation was to be completed by Sertember 30, 1997.
Engineering completed their evaluation and implemented minor modification- (CNCE-9166) to change the setpoints, however,-the_ work was not completed until October 30, 1997.
This missed commitment date was discovered during a
commitment review performed by Regr.latory Compliance.
The commitment-had not been flagged appropriately in the commitment tracking database and the due date was j
inadvertently extended prior to-notifying the NRC.
