SUBJECT: REPORT NO. 50-395/85-34
On August 1 - September 6,
1985, NRC inspected activities authorized by NRC
Operating License No. NPF-12 for your V. C. Summer facility.
At the conclusion
of the inspection, the findings were discussed witt, those members of your staff
identified in the enclosed inspection report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within these
areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of activities

in progress.
The violations described in the enclosed
Inspection Report are under

consideration for escalated enforcement action.
Accordingly, no Notices of
Violation are being issued at this time.
No response to this letter is
required.
However, please be advised that the number and characterization of
violations described in the enclosed report may change as a result of further
NRC review.
Your attention is invited to unresolved items identified in the inspection
report. These matters will be pursued during future inspections.
You will be advised by separate correspondence of the results of our
deliberations on this matter.
