REVIEW 0F WNP-2 SPRAY POND DRIFT LOSS REPORT JULY 1985

Letter, G02-85-649, G. C. Sorenson (SS) to A. Schwencer (NRC) dated September 27, 1985 We have reviewed the report on spray pond drift loss transmitted with the referenced letter. We agree with the procedures used for measuring water losses and conclude that the range of windspeeds encountered is adequate for verification of the relationship used in the analysis. The measure-ments showed that a safety margin of about 20% exists between the data and the safety analysis values, and increases with increasing windspeed.
We conclude that the original analysis performed by WPPSS in 1979 was conservative in regard to calculation of drift losses.
