M69460)
By letter dated November 12,1997, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requested Northern States Power (NSP) provide additional information by January 15, 1997 related to Unresolved Safety Issue A-46, Seismic Evaluation Reoort. NSP plans to respond to the majority of the RAI questions by the requested date, however, beccuse questions 6,7, and 8 are generic industry issues, we are requesting additional time to respor.d to these questions. NSP would like to withhold our response to the generic questions until the industry position is determined.
Monticello's NRC Project Manager, Mr. Tae Kim has been informed of our request for additional time.
