Dear-Mr. Zeringue:
This refers to the ins)ection conducted on September 28, 1997, through
Noverrber 8,1997, at tie Sequoyah facility.
The enclosed report presents the
results of this inspection.
During the inspection period, your conduct of activities at the Sequoyah
I
facihty was generally characterized by good operations, maintenance,
engineering and plant support.
Your steff effectively controlled the Unit 2
outage activities. including radiation exposure. Operations performance
during the shutdown, refuelinglance activities during the inspection periodoutage an
good.
Maintenance and survei
were generally considered to be very good.
Engineering performance was
considered to bc a strength in that plant modifications were completed to
correct long standing problems. A fire protection inspection noted good
implementation of the fire protection program.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice." a copy of
this letter, its enclosure, and your response will be placed in the NRL, Public

Document Room (PDR).
