Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 Amendment Application Nos.146 and 130, Spent Fuel Consolidation, San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 This letter withdraws Amendment Application Nos. 146 and 130 to Facility Operating Licenses NPF-10 and NPF-15 for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3, respectively.
Southern California Edison (SCE) submitted these amendment applications to the NRC by a July 29, 1996 letter (reference) and requested changes to the technical specifications and a revision to an exemption to permit storage of consolidated fuel in the spent fuel racks. Withdrawal at this time will allow the NRC to better focus its resources on issues of greater import to SCE. SCE may find the need, however, to revise and resubmit these amendment applications at some point in the future.
