This letter is to confirm the dates July 18-22, 1988, for the reverification of

'l the postfire safe shutdown capability (Module 64150) inspection of North Anna, which was established during the telephone conversation of May 12, 1988, r

between Bob Endfinger of your staff, and Milton Hunt of this office.

j The purpose of this inspection is to verify your continued compliance with 10 CFR 50, Appendix R, Sections III.G, III.

J.,

III.L. and III.0; reverify your postfire safe shutdown capability; and review your configuration management program with respect to fire protection.

This will be a team type inspection, composed of personnel from NRC Region II office.

In order for us to perform the inspection in an expeditious manner, we request j

that you have the materials listed on the enclosure to this letter readily available to the inspection team when they arrive on site on July 18, 1988.

Current revision of piping and instrumentation (flow). diagrams for hot standby and cold shutdown systems, alternate shutdown, and RCP oil collection system-3.

Plant layout drawings showing the location of fire barriers and hot standby and cold shutdown equipment;

Electrical raceway drawings; 5.

Cable and raceway location drawings; 6.

Plant operating procedures for postfire safe shutdown and repair procedures for cold shutdown systems (if any);

7.

Plant procedures governing design changes and work requests which implement the configuration control program for fire protection; 8.

All approved exemption requests and the associated NRC generated SERs approving or denying these exemptions; 9.

All engineering evaluations prepared in accordance with Generic Letter 86-10 justifying NFPA code deviations, the lack of area wide suppression or detection, and nonrated fire barriers or fire barrier penetrations; i

10. The associated circuits analysis and breaker / fuse coordination study;
11. All 50.59 evaluations which justify design modifications should be available on site.
