TURKEY POINT REQUALIFICATION EXAMINATION REPORT 250/0L-86-03 The NRC administered examinations on September 8-11, 1986, to employees of your company who hold licenses to operate the Turkey Point Nuclear Plant.
At the conclusion of the written examination, a copy of the exam was left with your staff; at the conclusion of the site visit, preliminary findings on the operating examinations were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the Examination Report, Enclosure 1.
Copies of the written examination questions and answer key are included in this report as Enclosure 2.
A copy of your staff's comments on the written examination is included in this report as Enclosure 3.
A requalification program evaluation report covering these examinations, those that were administered earlier this year, and those projected for the remainder of 1986, will be made upon completion of all NRC administered requalification examinations.
The higher pass rate reflected in the enclosed report is indica-tive of further improvements in the quality of your requalification training, but further effort is required to reach a satisfactory level of performance.
Based on a phone conversation on May 15, 1986, between Mr. Cecil Wethy, Vice President, Turkey Point and myself, it is still my understanding that only individuals who have passed the NRC-administered requalification or license examinations in 1986 will perform licensed duties.
Additionally, renewal applications will be processed only for those operators passing NRC administered requalification examinations until a final evaluation of the requalification program is made.
