The analysis of land use census data performed on December 15, 1997 indicated a dose-for the food and ground pathway at a newly identified garden greater than the dose currently calculated at an existing sample location.

The newly identified residential garden is in the city of San Clemente in Sector Q at 4.4 miles from the Units 2/3 release point. The calculated annual radiation dose was 5.43 x 10'8 mremduetoUnits'2/3airborneeffluentsviathefoodand ground pathway.

This was an increase of 33% over the value currently calculated for the. sampling location at Cotton Point Estates 8

(4.07x10 mrem), at 2.8 miles in Sector P.

The increased dose resulted from the cultivation _of leafy vegetables that are:not grown at any more established local gardens.

0ffsite' Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM), Section 5.1.1, Action d for San Onofre Uni.ts 2/3 Facility Operating License Nos.- NPF-10 and NPF-15 also requires a 30-day written-report when fresh leafy vegetable samples or fresh fleshy vegetable s&mples are unavailable from one of the sample locations required by Table 5-1.
