In response to your letter of June 27, 1978 we offer the following comments on actions taken by the applicant in re-sponding to the item listed in IE Bulletin 78-10.
We have determined from our NSSS vendor Westinghouse Electric Corporation that no Bergen-Paterson hydraulic shock suppressors are provided within the NSSS scope-of-supply for Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station.
Bergen-Paterson is not a Westinghouse approved supplier for the above mentioned project.
As previously reported in our letter dated June 11, 1975 to the NRC, we plan to use mechanical shock suppressors for all Seismic Category I applications; therefore, hydraulic snubbers of Bergen-Paterson design are not installed or in ready spares for th' Balance-of-Plant equipment for CPSES.
