NRC REVIEW 0F V0GTLE READINESS REVIEW MODULE NO. 138, C0ATINGS -
NRC INSPECTION REPORT N0. 50-424/86-26
The NRC has completed a detailed review, inspection, and verification of the
subject Module which you submitted to the NRC on March 4,1986.
Reviews were
conducted at NRC Atlanta and Bethesda offices and during periodic inspections
conducted at the Vogtle site.
Resultant findings were discussed with members of
your staff at the conclusion of the these inspections.
Areas contained in the module which were reviewed, examined, and verified are
identified in the enclosed report.
Within these areas, the inspection and
verification consisted of selected examinations of' procedures and representative
records, discussions with personnel, observations of activities in progress and
review of your licensing commitments.
The results of Module No.138 reviews and inspections are provided in the Summary
and Conclusions Secti,ons of the enclosed report.
Based upon the NRC review and inspection of those activities identified in the
module, we have determined that the applicant's activity control programs for the
implementation of the design and construction requirements of Category 1 coatings
for Vogtle Unit I are acceptable and comply with applicable regulatory

requirements.
The conclusions within the report are based upon information currently available
to the inspectors and reviewers.
Should information subsequently become
available which was not considered during this review, or which conflicts with
earlier information, it will be evaluated to determine what effects it may have
on the above conclusion.
