NRC Examinations at the Washington Nuclear Plant No. 2 Gentlemen:
On February 4-6, 1986, the NRC administered examinations to employees of your company who had applied for licenses to operate your Washington Nuclear Plant No. 2.
At the conclusion of the examinations, the examination questions and preliminary findings were discussed with those members of your staff I
identified in the enclosed examination report 50-397/0L-86-01.
As discussed at the exit meeting on February 6, 1986, we found your site specific simulator marginally acceptable for administering examinations to your candidates for an operator license. This has been a continuing problem, initially identified and discussed with your management and staff in 1984.
This problem requires prompt management attention.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
