Carolina Power & Light Company hereby submits a revised commitment concerning requalification training for mitigating core damage in response to NUREG-0737, Item II.B.4.
Shift Technical Advisors and operating personnel from the plant general manager through the operations chain
' including licensed operators will complete mitigating core damage training.
Only licensed operators will receive retraining per the licensed operator requalification program. Managers and technicians in the Instrumentation and Control, Health Physics and Chemistry Sections will receive training commensurate with their responsibilities, but will not receive retraining.
Available courses which include instruction in mitigation of core damage include topics in the Technical Staff & Manager, Instrumentatien and Controls, and the Environmental and Radiation Control t:aining programs.
Topics in these programs are regularly scheduled or can be scheduled on request.
The above commitments concerning retraining for mitigating core damage supersede the Company's previous commitments transmitted by letter dated January 26, 1983.
