ALABAMA POWER COMPANY - JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2, DOCKET NOS. 50-348A AND 50-364A:
REQUEST TO EXTEND PERIOD FOR SETTLEMENT NEGOTIATIONS Pursuant to your letter dated June 17, 1988 requesting a forty-five day extension in order to pursue settlement negotiations in the captioned matter, the staff is encouraged to see that the parties in this proceeding are actively pursuing settlement negotiations.
In this light, staff hereby grants your (joint) request for a forty-five day time extension until August 1,1988 to finalize a settlement agreement in this proceeding.
Unless good cause is shown by both parties for any extension of the negotia-tions, the staff will proceed with its decision process in this proceeding at the end of this period. A similar letter has been sent to counsel for the Alabama Power Company.
