lE SPECIAL REPORT CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1 INOPERABILITY OF CIIANNEL #11 (STEAM GENERATOR C) 0F THE UNIT 1 VIBRATION AND LOOSE PARTS MONITOR SYSTEM AS OF JANUARY 23, 1988 On January 23, 1988, channel #11 (Steam Generator C) of the Unit i Vibration and Loose Parts Monitor System was declared inoperable.
A redundant channel at S/G C (channel #7) remains operable. Work Request 268030PS was written to repair the accelerameter. The repair will be carried out during a future outage.
Since the channel has been inoperable more than 30 days this is reportable to the NRC pursuant to Technical Specification 3.3.3.9.
