McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. 50-369, -370 Proposed Technical Specification Changes For Instrumentation Surveillances Gentlemen:
Attached are proposed license amendments for Facility Operating Licenses NPF-9 and NPF-17 for McGuire Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2.
The proposed changes to the Technical Specifications seek to delete several surveillance requirements that serve no useful purpose. These include channel checks on instrumentation that is normally overranged or in an invalid state, verifying alarms, trips, and interlocks where there are none, and verifying the ability to transfer equipment to an emergency power source when the equipment is permanently connected to an emergency power source.

contains the proposed changes to the McGuire Technical l
Specifications. contains the Justification and Safety Analyses in support of the proposed changes; this includes an analysis conforming to the standards contained in 10CFR 50.92 as required by 10CFR 50.91 which concludes that the proposed amendments do not involve any Significant Hazards Considerations.
This request involves one application for amendment to McGuire's Technical Specifications. Accordingly, pursuant to 10CFR 170.21, a check for $150.00 is enclosed.
