SUM.M.'.RY OF MEET!!iG HELD Oft JUNE 22,1978 WITH THE WESTINGHOUSE OWNERS GRUP TO DISCUSS THE RESULTS OF PHASE "A" AND THE CURRENT SCHEDULE FOR EESOLUTICN OF THEl6YP.'4ETRIC LOCA LOADS ISSUE The NRC staff net with the Westinghouse owners group to discuss the results of phase "A" of their three phase plan. The major areas 7

of discussion and copments are su=arized below.
..e.y,,_,,
Tha generic grouping studies reduced the Westinghouse plants to five (5) rajor gre y.
_ Scoping analyses results were presented for four (4) break locations on the stea', generator and reactor coolant pump sup; orts.
The raxirum piping stress (elastic analysis) resulting from each of the breaks consicered was also presented for each plant.
The steau generator support loads presented did not include the affects of stean generator cavity pressurization.
The Westinghouse owners stated that preliminary investigations indicated that the contribution of S.G.
cavity pressuri:ation would be snali and requested that the staff participate in a working group session to potentially eliminate this part of analysis. The staff requested that the Westinchouse owners investigste potential f6r 5.G. cavity pressurization for sHrt mWted steirgenerators.
A working group session win be scheduled to resolve chis issue.
