SUBJECT:
Request for Withholding Infomation from Public Disclosure By application dated March 27, 1986, Georgia Power Company (GPC) submitted the General Electric report entitled "Technical Specification improvement Analysis for the Reactor Protection System for Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Unit 1," MDE-75-0485, dated April 1985, and requested that it be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790. GPC subsequently submitted General Electric's affidavit dated September 3,1987.
The affidavit stated that the submitted infonnation should be considered exerot from mandatory public disclosure for the following reasons:
1.
The infonnation has consistently been held in confidence by General Electric.
2.
No public disclosure of the information has been made.
3.
The information is not available in public sources.
4 Public disclosure of the infonnation would cause substantial harm to the competitive position of General Electric.
We have reviewed your application and the material based on the requirements and criteria of 10 CFR 2.790 and, on the basis of General Electric's statements, have determined that the submitted infonnation sought to be withheld contains trade secrets or proprietary corrinerical infomation.
Therefore, the Technical Specifications improvement Analysis for the Reactor Protection System for Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Unit 1, marked as proprietary, will be witheid from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790 (b)(5) and Section 103 (b) of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
