This Annual Report of Challenges to Main Steam Line Safety / Relief Valves (SRVs) is being submitted pursuant to the requirements of Technical Specification 6.9.1.5 for the year 1987.

During

1987, Hope Creek Generating Station (HCGS) experienced one (1) unplanned challenge to SRVs "H" and "P"

I as a result of a reactor scram on 2/24/87 (Ref:

Licensee

[

Eveat Report 87-017-00).

A planned lifting of all SRVs occurred on 10/10/87 following completion of a

scheduled j

maintenance outage to verify the operation of the acoustic i

monitoring system.

During the course of this evolution, SRV i

"J" stuck open, and was subsequently replaced (Ref: Licensee Event Report 87-047).
