Lando Zech. Chairman i
U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C.
205$5 Dear Chairman Zech We were shocked to learn of the forcible ejection of Massachusetts Assistant Secretary of Public Safety Peter Agnes from the Nuclest Regulatory Commission meeting which you chaired on October 14. and we are writing to express our outrage that you and the Conunission would trea.t a public servant and representative of the Commonwealth in such a manner.
Your refusal to hear the concerns of local officials and citizens over the status of emergency planning, which Assistant Secretary Agres soaght to express at your meeting, is an insult to Mr. Agnes and the Commonwealth, to public officials and volunteers who have been verking to improve emergency planning, and to all residents of Duxbury and the other towns surrounding the Pilgrim Nuclear rower Station.
We want you to know that we take seriously our responsibility ref protec-ting the health and safety of Duxbury citizens, even if the Nuclear Regulatory Crammission does not, and we will do everything we een to see that offsite emergency planning issues are resolved before the restart of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station.
L Sincerely, i
