to ensure those safety-related power-operated gate valves that are susceptible to pressure locking or thermal binding are capable of performing their safety functions.
By letter dated February 13,1996, Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) submitted its 180-day response to GL 95-07 for Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 2. The NRC staff reviewed NNECO's submittal and requested additional information by letter dated June 19,1996, p
NNECO provided the additionalinformation by letter dated August 7,1996. During the period of August 4 through 8,1997, the NRC staff performed an inspection to review specific aspects of g
information summarized in NNECO's responses to GL 95-07. This inspection is documented in NRC Inspection Report 50-336/97-203. NNECO responded to the inspection report findings by letter dated July 17,1998.
S The NRC staff has reviewed NNECO's submittals, and has concluded that NNECO has adequately addressed the actions requested in GL 95-07, as discussed in the enclosed safety i
evaluation. This completes all NRC staff actions related to the subject TAC number.
