10 CFR PART 74 NRC TEAM INSPECTION The purpose of this letter is to announce an NRC team inspection which will be conducted at your facility during the period November 28 through December 1, 1988, by members of the Region II office and accompanied by a member of the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards. This inspection is being conducted to evaluate your material control and accounting program for special nuclear materials pursuant to 16 CFR 74.31. The enclosure to this letter l identifies the projected team members and their assigned areas of inspection.

! We request that you assign cognizant members of your staff as individual I

points of contact for each team member based upon the identified areas of inspection.

We would like to have an entrance meeting with appropriate members of your staff at 9:30 a.m. on November 28, 1988, to provide information concerning the scope of the inspection and to introduce members of the inspection team.

At the entrance meeting you may wish to provide a short briefing by members of your staff on matters relating to our inspection efforts in the identified areas of inspection. During this inspection we would like the use of a room, such as a conference room, of sufficient size to accommodate the NRC inspection team.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions, I will be happy to discuss them with you.
