Inspection No. 50-352/87-20
This refers to the routine physical security inspection conducted by
Mr. R. J. Bailey of this office on July 27-30, 1987 at the Limerick Generating
Station, Limerick, Pennsylvania, of activities authorized by NRC License No.
NPF-37 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Bailey with
Mr. J. Do. ring of your staf f at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that one of your activities
was not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements, as set forth in the
Notice of Violation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A.
This violation has been
categorized by severity level in accordance with the "General Statement of
Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C
You are required to respond to this letter and in
preparing your response, you should follow the instructions in Appendix A.
A section of the enclosed inspection report contains details of your security
program that have been determined to be exempt from public disclosure in
accordance with 10 CFR 73.21 (Safeguards Information).
Therefore, the sec-
tion so identified will not be placed in the NRC Public Document Room and will
receive limited distribution.
This letter and the remainder of the inspection
report will be placed in the Public Document Room, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a).
