The requalification program for licensed personnel detailed to Pittsburgh, as described in your letter LIC-88-499, including the additional infonnation and modifications as described in your letter LIC-88-865, has been reviewed. We find it to be an accy table mechanism for assuring the continuing qualification of licensed operators and senior operators involved in simulator development, subject to the conditions delineated below. Those licensed personnel located in Pittsburgh, who do not fully complete the 1988 OPPD requalification cycle, shall acco.nplish the following before returning to licensed duties:
Regain currency in the requalification program, including makeup of any incomplete or missed lectures and quizzes but not including material waived or covered by videotape.
Satisfactorily cotrplete any annual requalification examinations missed.
Makeup examinations should be comparable to the annual examination. They shall include at least an operating examination plus a written examination if it was part of any missed annual examination. A written examination may be required by the interval since the previous written examination in accordance with 10 CFR 55.59(a)(1).
Complete at least 40 hours4.62963e-4 days <br />0.0111 hours <br />6.613757e-5 weeks <br />1.522e-5 months <br /> of shift functions under direction in a position for which the individual's license is required.
These qualifications were discussed in a telephone conversation between Messrs. J. Gasper, J. Fluehr, and J. Pellet on November 17, 1988.
