Gentlemen:
This refers to the special allegation review inspection conducted by
Mr. G. L. Pirtle of this office between August 24 and December 28, 1987, of
allegations at the Fermi 2 Atomic Power Plant, authorized by NRC Operating
License No. NPF-43 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. J. Korte of
your staff, at the conclusion of the inspection on December 28, 1987. The
' allegations pertained to Fitness for Duty issues.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. The inspection consisted of a review of the investigation of
the allegations conducted by your staff and documented in a report, dated
November 20, 1987, and submitted to NRC Region III.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified.
In accordance with 10 CF2 2.790 of the Commissions regulations, a copy of this
letter and the inspection report will be placed in the NRC Public Document
Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
