l BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 Unit 1 remains shutdown on administrative hold to resolve various TVA and NRC concerns. Unit 1 has been on administrative hold since June 1, 1985. As a result, TVA considers that accrual of reporting hours is suspended since the unit has a maximum dependable capacity of zero MWe. Accordingly, TVA does not l

consider reporting cumulative hours for the period beginning i June 1, 1985, when calculating the operating status variables. I BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 )

For the month of October, Unit 2 generated 762,650 megawatt hours gross electrical power and operated at a net capacity factor of 93.8 percent. On October 1, 1998 at 0047 hours5.439815e-4 days 0.0131 hours 7.771164e-5 weeks 1.78835e-5 months , Unit 2 scrammed due to turbine trip on high Stator Coolant System temperature. !

The unit restarted and became critical at 0122 hours0.00141 days 0.0339 hours 2.017196e-4 weeks 4.6421e-5 months on October i 2, 1998, and closed breaker at 0641 hours0.00742 days 0.178 hours 0.00106 weeks 2.439005e-4 months on October 2, 1998. As of October 31, 1998, Unit 2 has operated continuously for 29 days.

The unit restarted and became critical at 1809 hours0.0209 days 0.503 hours 0.00299 weeks 6.883245e-4 months on October 14, 1998, and closed breaker at 1059 hours0.0123 days 0.294 hours 0.00175 weeks 4.029495e-4 months on October 15, 1998. DbWa{ N62 ReactAr'l y 3 10/01/98 F 30 A 3 260/1998003 TJ ISV On 10/01/98 at 0047 CDT Unit 2 received a full automatic scram from 100 percent power. The scram was generated by a main turbine trip which was the result of high generator stator cooling water outlet temperature. The cause of the scram was failure of a normally open manual isolation valve which blocked the flow of stator cooling water through the associated heat exchangers.
