1 Unit 1 operated at'approximately 499 MWe net throughout the I
period with no significant reductions in load.
LER 87-005 was issued during the period and documents a reactor i
trip and safety injection system actuation that occurred on l
November 21, 1987.
This event was discussed'in the November 1987 l
monthly report narrative summary of operating experience.
I On December 23, 1987, the G01 emergency diesel generator failed l
to start during a routine operational test.
Maintenance personnel inspected the diesel starting components and found no l
abnormal conditions.
The diesel was then started, tested, and placed back in service.
Other major safety-related maintenance conducted during the period included retubing the B and C component cooling water heat exchangers.

On December 19, the unit was taken off line for 4.1 hours1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br /> to make repairs to the 19 kV potential transformers and to balance the main turbine.
LER 87-005 was issued during the period and documents a turbine runback caused by a dropped control rod.
The event occurred on November 20, 1987, and was discussed in the November 1987 monthly report narrative summary of operating experience.
Major safety-related maintenance completed during the period included retubing of the D component cooling water heat exchanger.
