1 j On January 14, Comissioner Carr, his technical assistant, and other l members of the NRC staff had a very productive meeting with Misrouri State officials including: Dr. Robert Hamon. Of rector, Department of Health, j Dr. FreOrick Brunner. Director, Department of Natural Resources and Ron Kucu a, Missouri State Liason Officer. Dr. Brunner emphasized that Region !!!'s practice of conducting SALP reviews in the local area of the plant is very useful for media access and public involvement.

Steve Burns has researched this and I have reported back to Ron Kucera that the NRC 10 not aware of any such pending litigation.

Missouri has expressed concerns cbout the "ichioan legislation which implements the Midwest LLW Compact. They were concerned about the requirement for the Missouri program to be equivalent or more restrictive than the Michigan program. Pegion III and SLITP will handle the review of this question as pa Lof preliminary interactions with Mict 'can on becoming w' +
