APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporat;on Docket: 50-482/88-28 Wolf Creek Generating Station Operating License: NPF-42 Ouring an NRC inspection conducted on September 19-23, 1988, a violation of NRC '

requirements was identified. The violation involved the failure to perform and properly document immediate corrective action to unsatisfactory results of analyses performed on spiked and split samples. In accordance with the "General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1988), the violation is listed below:

Chemistry Laboratory Technician Analytical Performance Technical Specification 6.8.1 states, "Written procedures shall be ,'

established, imp'lemented, and maintained covering the activities referenced below:

The applicable procedures recommended in Appendix A, of Regulatory Guide 1.33, Revision 2, Fabruary 1978."

, i The licensee's Administrative Procedure ADM-04-017. "Verification of I Analytical Performance," Revision 7, dated August 7, 1987, paragraph 2.2 i requires that, "for any unacceptable conditions or results identified by this procedure, the cause shall be determined and immediate corrective action taken and documented on the Corrective Action Record (Figure 4) of AGM-04-005." .

Contrary to the above, the NRC inspectors determined on September 21,
